Motorcyclist breaks arm, leg in crash

A young man was seriously injured Sunday afternoon when his motorcycle collided with a sport utility vehicle on Prospect Road in Goodwood.
The motorcyclist, who was on a street and trail bike, was taken to hospital with a broken arm and a broken leg after the accident left him on top of the Chevy Avalanche’s roof.
RCMP arrested the SUV driver and expected to lay charges of impaired driving.
Sgt. Wayne Latimer of Halifax RCMP said it appeared that the SUV came out of a parking lot without yielding to traffic on the road.
An employee at Goodwood Family Golf Centre, who did not wish to be named, said he was outside at about 3:30 p.m. and saw the motorcycle coming down the road.
He didn’t witness the accident but heard it.
Then he saw the biker on top of the vehicle.
“There was a loud pop and when I turned and looked, the motorcycle was on the pavement and the driver was right up on top of the truck. . . . His arms were laid up to his side and he was facing up to the sky. It was almost like you placed him there.”
Ya that day sucked pretty bad, I still don;t have the nerve to get on another bike. People have to get their heads wrapped around the idea that you CAN’T drink and drive
