Motorcyclist killed in crash

A motorcycle burst into flames when it collided with a van Monday, killing the bike’s rider.

The crash happened at about 4:30 p.m. on Highway 1 in Wilmot, Annapolis County.

The van was making a left turn into a driveway when it collided with the motorcycle.

The rider was pronounced dead at the scene, and the lone occupant of the van was taken to hospital with injuries police said were not life-threatening.

An RCMP accident reconstruction expert was at the scene and Highway 1 was closed for several hours.

Police said their preliminary investigation suggested speed was a factor in the collision.

  1. Anonymous says:

The bike may have been speeding but the majority of traffic on that road travels 10-20 km/hr over the posted speed, but in the end it is still ANOTHER CAR/TRUCK MAKING A LEFT TURN AND FAILING TO YEILD TO A BIKE.
